Strangefish are a progressive rock band in the Classic style (ie. Heavily influenced by Yes and Genesis) from Manchester, UK. The band is best caught live, where members are able to demonstrate their individual strength. Steve Taylor is a powerful, charismatic front man, Bob is a skilled and versatile guitarist, Paul O'Neill's keyboards are tasteful and dextrous, David Whittaker is a mobile drummer and Julian Gregory is not only a splendid bassist, but is using his ability as professional violinist more and more with the band.
The band is developing a strong following, particularly on the strength of their superb second album Fortune Telling. The band has played regularly at The Classic Rock Society, and Steve has won best vocalist in the CRS end of year awards for the last 3 years, with the other band members also well placed.
And if the band treat us to “Take a Holiday” at Summers End, watch out for the ”Hankyheads”!
