Whitemead Forest Park is a superb holiday village offering self-catering accommodation and pitches for tents and caravans. The Fountain Inn in Parkend has a few lovely rooms to let on a B&B basis. There is also a lodge which offers very inexpensive accommodation in full-size bunk beds, provided in dormitories for 2, 3, 4, 9 and 12 people. Mattresses and pillows are provided, but sleeping bags and towels should be brought with you. Alternatively, a 'bed kit' can be rented for a small fee. The Dark Barn Lodge, Rudford, nr Gloucester is offering Summer's End visitors a special rate.
