YESTERDAYS PULL OUT – TOUCHSTONE STEP IN
We are sorry to announce that due to a change of record company, Hungarian band Yesterdays will no longer be able to appear at this year’s festival. We would like to apologise to those who, like us, were looking forward to seeing them. However, we are delighted to announce that the superb UK band Touchstone have stepped into the breach. The band have just completed their debut album “Discordant Dream”, produced with John Mitchell (It Bites) at the helm. The album, which features new vocalist Kim Seviour, is released on September 10th and will be on sale at the festival.

The Festival line up and provisional schedule now looks like this. Final timings and Saturday’s acoustic act will be announced by the end of August.

We're thrilled to announce the addition of Karnataka and Caamora to the Summer's End Festival 07 line-up.

KARNATAKA continue their resurgence with founder member and bassist Ian Jones at the helm. Members of the line up include new singer Lisa Fury and keyboard player Gonzalo Carrera. Expect song-orientated, dynamic, emotional progressive rock from a band with a ten-year history and appearances all over the world. http://www.karnataka.34sp.com

Taking this year's Saturday acoustic spot is the wonderful CAAMORA. A collaboration between Polish singer Agnieszka Swita and keyboard player Clive Nolan (Arena / Pendragon), the duo are currently working on a 2 CD version of the novel "She" to be released at the start of 2008. Summers End Festival Announces It Bites as Second headliner

We are delighted to announce that It Bites have been selected as the second headliner for the Summers End Festival at the Robin, Bilston on 15th and 16th September.

The band were formed in the early 80s, and are best known in the UK for the 1986 hit single "Calling All the Heroes" from their debut album "Big Lad in the Windmill". Two further studio albums and a live album followed, cleverly mixing pop with prog and hard rock, before the band called it a day in 1990. They reformed in 2006 to a rapturous reception, with guitarist and vocalist John Mitchell (Arena / Kino).

We are pleased to welcome the band as our Sunday night headliner, after a superb acoustic set from keyboard player John Beck and John Mitchell at the festival in 2006.

Summers End Festival Announces First Headliner

The Summers End Festival is pleased to announce the second group of three bands to be confirmed for this year's event, to be held at The Robin, Bilston on September 15th and 16th.

We are very excited to welcome our first headliner, Sweden's PAIN OF SALVATION. Fronted by the talented and charismatic Daniel Gildenlow, the band this year celebrates a decade of recording with their sixth studio album Scarsick. Combining varied and dynamic progressive rock with strong metal elements, the band make thought-provoking and emotional music, and are well known for their inspirational and imaginative live shows. This appearance marks a rare chance for UK fans to see the band in concert, playing a full set. http://www.painofsalvation.com

Our next confirmed overseas artists are YESTERDAYS, Hungarian nationals based in Romania. This remarkable 8-piece band plays dynamic, melodic progressive rock with its inspiration firmly in the 1970s, spiced with a touch of traditional Hungarian music. Stunning female vocals from Kinga Janosi combine with flute, guitar and analog keyboards on their excellent album Holdfenykert (Moonlit garden), which is often reminiscent of Yes and Renaissance.

We are very happy to welcome to the festival former Enid guitarist Nick May's band WHIMWISE, which also includes keyboard player Gonzalo Carrera (Karnataka) and multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Alquemia, among others. Their unusual music combines a strong classical structure with rock and electronic instrumentation, while still remaining fundamentally accessible. http://www.nickmay.co.uk

First Three Bands announced for Summers End 2007

The Summers End Festival is pleased to announce the first three bands to be confirmed for this year's event, to be held at The Robin, Bilston on September 15th and 16th.

We are thrilled to welcome a resurgent SOLSTICE to the Robin stage. The band brought a very different character to the UK Progressive revival in the early 80s, combining progressive rock with strong traditional folk elements. They quickly built a reputation as a dynamic live act, and produced the classic "Silent Dance" album in 1984. A revival in the mid 90s saw two further albums "New Life" and "Circles", and now they are back once more to bring us their unique brand of prog.

Our first confirmed overseas artists are ABARAX, from Germany. The band's music is symphonic progressive rock with its feet in Pink Floyd territory, typified by the fabulous, fluid guitar of Dennis Grasekamp. Their album, the concept piece "The Crying of the Whales" is highly recommended for lovers of dynamic, emotional prog.

We are also very happy to welcome new British group TINYFISH to the festival. The band have just released their eponymous debut album on their own label, Lazygun records, which uses spoken word passages, samples and guitar synths (rather than traditional keyboards) to create a fresh, contemporary, melodic brand of prog that is already gaining them many admirers.
